“Vaping Stops Here” (VSH) is an awareness campaign and nonprofit youth organization led by three high schoolers from Fairfax County, Virginia aiming to raise awareness about the dangers of vapes and minimize vaping among teenagers. While VSH originally started as a project for a marketing class, we quickly realized our potential to positively impact both our community and communities around the world. Due to this, we launched VSH, hoping to inspire change everywhere.
What even is vaping, and why is it so negative? Here's a quick rundown: Vaping is a form of inhaling nicotine, and it is an extremely serious addiction that impacts the lives of thousands of people across the world, including countless teenagers. It can destroy relationships, physical health, and mental state. While some may see some positive effects in the moment, such as friendships, pleasure, belonging to a group, and improved focus and short term memory, these only stay present for a short period of time. However, all of the harmful side effects are significantly worse than any benefits, especially the fact that vaping could even lead to death in extreme cases. Is death really the price to pay for short-term pleasure?
To vape users:
Here's the good news: it is not too late to quit. You can stop yourself, save your future, AND your health. The road will be hard, and you will face many challenging obstacles, but it will be 100% worth it in the end. There are countless people who have committed the change and now live happy, fulfilling lives. Do your part in helping us bring a halt to this vaping epidemic.
Remember, YOU can be the person that inspires change in your community!
